Founder
Italian inventor and entrepreneur, Fabio Perini was born into a papermaking family in Lucca. At the age of 17 he had already patented his first device for process automation in paper manufacturing. This was the first idea, and the first patent, in a long series of technological breakthroughs that in just a short while would redefine the concept of tissue converting. Thanks to his open-minded approach and the knowledge he shared with other friends in the business, Lucca became the worldwide tissue capital.
To invent one must set aside any previously acquired levels of understanding and learn how to start over from scratch.

In the early 80s, he devolved his creativity and innovative aptitude to the world of sailing and founded Perini Navi. Drawing on his groundbreaking developments in tissue, Perini invented the revolutionary sail handling system. World leaders in the design, construction and delivery of large sailing yachts over 45 metres, Perini Navi becomes the most iconic superyachting luxury brand of the industry worldwide.
In the years to come Perini returned to his earliest passion, tissue. At present his patents inspire Futura, technology and innovation leader of Consumer and Away from Home converting lines for the tissue industry.
Perini has dedicated his career to the creation of new real estate concepts, industrial models and technology innovation. Amongst the numerous awards and recognitions received at both national and international levels, he is best represented by nearly 100 patents that attribute to his engineering-mechanical genius.
…but if one does not sprint towards the top of the next hill, they lose their advantage. It’s not enough to just invent: we must always continue.

Today, Fabio Perini’s instilled values, ideas and enthusiasm are what lead the technological innovation activities carried out by the expert teams at the dedicated research and development centres of the Faper Group companies.
He was nominated ‘Cavaliere del Lavoro’ in 1991.
In 2007 he won the prize ‘Leonardo Qualità Italia’.
